That Blue Bird.

Through my teaching at Dundas Valley School of Art I’ve done plenty of cool sample artworks to show my students! This bird was one of the samples for animal Oil Pastel art.

It was to show students that…
– You don’t have to fit the entire subject on the page and can crop them in more interesting ways
– Contrasting colours makes artwork more eye catching
– Shading doesn’t have to be done always in Black, but can be done in any colour
– Artistic liberties can be made to the subject to make it suit your final piece in more beautiful ways

I really loved this bird, and I hope you do too!
